A quick read, and cute, if 100% implausible.

Led by letters from her aunt, a girl from New Jersey sets off with a backpack and travels around Europe. If at all possible, I think everyone should have an eccentric adult in their lives. It's very similar to [b:Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters|136189|Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters|Lesley M.M. Blume|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1172077305s/136189.jpg|131247] only our heroine is now old enough to experience the adventures herself.

Love the book, hate the cover. That model is not the American Amazon Ginny.

** spoiler alert ** I was not the ideal reader for this book, and that's okay. I might have been, once upon a time, an unnamed number of years ago. In some ways, this book is too easy, because everyone wants an eccentric rich aunt married to a guy who works at Harrods! But what the aunt dared the main character to do, and the fact that the teen accepted the challenge, those things were worth reading. I sort of wish she had included more art talk, but that might have bogged the whole thing down or made it sound too professorial. Besides, those who are really interested in the art will go search for the images of the art anyway, and who knows where that will lead..... :)
