  1. Is it spelled libib or Libib, and how the heck is it pronounced?
    We have a very strict policy on spelling: use what visually looks best. ;) It is pronounced luh-bib. For you IPA people, relish the schwa: ləbib.
  2. Is there a limit to how many items I can store?
    There is a de facto limit of 100,000 items. If a larger storage amount is needed please contact us.
  3. Is there a limit to how many libraries I can create?
    Currently you can have up to 100 libraries per account. Pro multi-user accounts can assign libraries to specific users (managers). For single users, multiple libraries helps with keeping a separate wish list; or a person may have a personal and organization library. Some people break up their items by categories, or businesses may want to split libraries by department. If there is a need for more please contact us.
  4. What happens to my library and user info if I leave libib?
    We're big believers in personal privacy and we never keep any information once a user leaves our service. All information relating to your account are completely removed from our system (our newsletter does require a separate unsubscribe). If you are concerned you may want to come back to libib later, you can export your library to a CSV file via the control panel, and re-import it at a later date.
  5. Do I have to use a scanner?
    No. You can easily type in an ISBN (for books)/UPC (for movies) number, or just search for the item using keywords. You can also download our app which includes blazingly fast scanner using your devices camera.
  6. How much is a Pro subscription?
    A pro subscription is $5 USD/month ($60 USD/year) for a single user. If additional users (managers) need to be added to the account, the price is increased by $1/user per month. 2 users would be $6, 3 users would be $7, etc...
  7. What does a Pro subscription get me?
    Pro subscriptions are geared toward small organizations, schools and religious institutions, but many individual users have found benefit to upgrading as well. You get the ability to lend, have patrons, patron holds, batch editing, multi-user management, search all libraries, more control over published libraries, and other cool stuff.   8. How many patrons can I add [PRO]?
    Patrons - those who interact with your public library: place holds and can have items checked out to them - have no hard limit. You can add as many patrons to your system as you like.
  9. What happens when I make a change to my subscription [PRO]?
    When you switch subscription plans in the middle of a billing period, here's what happens:

    • If the new plan has a different billing frequency from the old plan (for example, monthly to yearly)
      • The first full period of the new plan begins immediately, and you are charged for the first period less the account balance.
    • If the new plan has the same billing frequency, we do something slightly more complex, but with the result of keeping the billing schedule the same:
      • We immediately create a line item for the remaining portion of the current billing period at the new plan rate
      • At the next scheduled billing, you are charged for the line item and the full charge for the upcoming period, less the account balance.
    • If the account balance amount is larger than the amount due, you are not charged anything, and the account balance is carried over to future billing periods, until it's spent down.
  10. How can I delete my account?
    Go to "Settings > Account > Delete Account" If you are a Pro user, this will delete all managers in your account as well as stop any future billing.
  11. How can I downgrade my account [PRO]?

  1. My item is missing some information, what can I do?
    All users can edit covers, titles, descriptions and creators. So feel free to make these changes as needed. Pro users can edit all data, so any missing information can be quickly added. Alternatively, every item on the website has a "flag" option. If an item is flagged it will go under review and a Libib staff member will make any necessary changes within 48 business hours.
  2. What browsers do you support?
    We support one year's worth of the most recent releases of Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer.
  3. Can I export my library to print [PRO]?
    Go to "Settings > Libraries > Export Library" and choose the library you wish to export. You can download it as a CSV file to save or print.
  4. Why are some of my books missing LCCN, DDC, OCLC, LCC information [PRO]?
    This info is only exposed to Pro users, and only for books. We make a best effort to collect as much as this info as we can, but can not guarantee that each item will have a complete record. We do allow you to edit this metadata yourself, so you are never without the option to correct and add!
  1. Do you have an iPhone/Android app?
    Yes! Our apps let you scan your items directly into libib: Get our app for iPhone and Android! Libib is also available as a mobile friendly site for smartphones (just visit libib.com and the mobile site shows up automatically). It has been tested on the most recent iPhone and Android mobile devices.
  2. Some items on the website aren't showing up in the app, what do I do?
    Go to settings in the app, and tap "Sync".
  3. When I tap on the barcode button within my library, why doesn't the barcode scanner appear?
    It's likely the app was denied access to your phone's camera. Go to your phones settings and allow Libib access to your camera.
