Beyond God the Father

Mary Daly
Mary Daly was a radical feminist and theologian who was pivotal in popularizing intensely transphobic and race-blind ideas among her white lesbian-feminist peers. In this famous 1973 book, Daly argues that Christianity is an essentially patriarchal institution heavily contributing to the oppression of women, in part because the Bible defines God in masculine terms, which, according to Daly, causes maleness and divinity to be assimilated with each other.
