Holy Moly! Sarah J. Maas has become an all-time favorite author of mine since I began reading her books last year. I waited to read the third book in the ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series because I didn’t want Feyre, Rhysand, and the rest of the Night Court to leave me so quickly. I read the first two books in the series before reading A Court of Winds and Ruin, so I can re-read the books in order and also refresh the story in my mind. It didn’t take me long to read the books either.

I’m keeping this short because I obviously do not want to give away any spoilers. What a great book! I am so glad to have picked up this trilogy and I wish it wasn’t over. I know we are getting a novella set next year that will lead into the spin-off series but I’m going to miss these characters and their story so much. I saw so many people who were disappointed with this last book in the series but I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I think it wrapped up nicely and was not rushed through. A Court of Wings and Ruin obviously takes place after A Court of Mist and Fury and starts off with Feyre in the Spring Court. She is trying to turn the people of the Spring Court against each other and against Tamlin because he betrayed them to the King of Hybern. When she finally manages to get away to Velaris, they have to prepare for war against Hybern and its army. They quickly realize they need allies and reach out to the other High Lords to see who will fight with them. This book has a LOT of action and I was loving it. The romance is great! We see some new relationships starting to form and we still get to see the loving friendship between the inner circle. Rhysand and Feyre are still my absolute favorite and my love for Cassian and Azriel only grew more with this story. I was also so glad to see that Lucien was not the bad guy like Tamlin. I was holding out for him since I really enjoyed his character since A Court of Thorns and Roses. Nesta and Elain were… okay… Elain seemed so broken and Nesta was just angry through the entire book. But I loved that by the end of the book all three sisters were actually acting like sisters to each other. I guess the only complaint I really have is that we did not get to see Feyre painting as much as I would have liked. In A Court of Thorns and Roses, Feyre mentions painting as her greatest passion and we don’t get to see it that much in the rest of the series. She replaced painting with Rhysand, which I guess is reasonable because, c’mon, he’s Rhysand! Go read this series! You won’t be sorry that you did. Don’t be intimidated by the size of the books, you will fly through the pages of this great story.
