Eleanor & Park

Rainbow Rowell

Reading a really good book, you don´t wish it would just speed up.

With a really good book, you are Not happy, when you are getting to the end.

When you´re really into a book, you don´t think of reading it like it is an obligation.

So, sorry mainstreeam and reasonable people, not for me.

To explain and make us all feel better, I think I am just not into her contemporaries (her main genre, yes). I am usually not into contemporaries, the more americ-an and romantic-an they are.

I tried Fangirl. Failed Big time.

Read Carry On. Enjoyed.

Now this.

And you know, despite my bad experience, I am still pretty curious about her older Attachments.

You know, the book wasn´t that bad. I loved some lines. Rowell is that kind of author you can quote heavily and happily. She makes her characters stand out. Have that poetic outlook on the world. But it just didn´t spoke to me like it should have.

The characters are well written and a lot of fun. The plot... meh.

Rainbow Rowell is officially one of my new favorite authors. This book...it was quirky and the characters were a bit odd, but that's why you love them. That ending though... I teared up a bit.
