Very solid short stories collection, with a few misses in the middle. Kind of like Alice Munro but with a darker edge. Liked Lucky Chow Fun, L. Debard and Aliette, and Blythe the most.

This collection of short stories ranges from a war in Germany to a small town with a brothel to a pudgy farm girl in love with an aristocratic playboy. The stories can be strange or interesting. Some even haunting. One so confusing I am not sure who half the characters were. The writing is always good and flows in a way that makes you disappear into it. I will recommend this when you want to feast on reading as it does take some work to chew on the words.
