Jason wishes his life could be less predictable. It does; when he volunteers at a zoo he gets swallowed by a hippo and ends up in another world called Lyrian. Even though Lyrian is a magical world, Jason wants to find a way home. Along the journey Jason meets a girl from his world named Rachel, and they both discover that it is their destiny to find the one thing that can defeat the king, the word of which few people know even a syllable. Brandon Mull writes magically. Beyonders is the great first book to a series mixed with magic, adventure, and great humour!  Submitted by: Sasha C.
