Lewis and Clark Trail Maps

Martin Plamondon
Martin Plamondon II used measurements and notes in the Corps of Discovery journals to create a ground-breaking cartographic reconstruction-546 maps in all-depicting the Lewis and Clark trail in vivid detail, from the 1804 beginning to the 1806 return. The author includes significant geographic features and compares modern streams and riverbeds to their courses at the time of exploration. Additional maps and illustrations portray the Great Falls of the Missouri, Fort Clatsop winter quarters, Cascade volcanoes, the Columbia's broad estuary, and more. Excerpts from the expedition diaries and an insightful essay on frontier surveying also enhance the series.
