End (A Series of Unfortunate Events), The

Lemony Snicket
There is nothing to be found in the pages of these books but misery and despair. You still have time to choose something else to read. But if you must know what unpleasantries befall the charming and clever Baudelaire children read on..."The End". This book is the last in "A Series of Unfortunate Events", and even if you braved the previous twelve volumes, you probably can't stand such unpleasantries as a fearsome storm, a suspicious beverage, a herd of wild sheep, an enormous bird cage, and a truly haunting secret about the Baudelaire parents.

The End... didn't feel like the end at all. The last part of the story had a nice touch to it. Finally someone seemed to realize what a mean guy Olaf actually is. It was nice to have a story like this for once. It was also nice to have this guy who really irritates you and makes you questioning if he is a good guy or a bad guy.

Unfortunately, the end of The End was simply... disappointing. I hoped for so many answers and got none. Instead of letting them take care of a baby (a very unrealistic part of the story that annoyed me), I would have prefered some answers. I'm still thinking about reading Lemony Snicket's new series, because I don't want to put up with another 13 books just to have no answers to all my questions in the end.

I still love the series as a whole. There were some really cool stories and some great characters (the Baudelaires, the Quackmire triplet...). But a part of me will always hate it for not giving me a feeling of accomplishment at the end of it.
