Red Grooms' Ruckus Rodeo

Barbara Haskell
NY Abrams Pub. 1988. Large Glazed Bds. No Dj. 0810915979 Marvelous book of six pop-up panels of rodeo life by an artist very well suited to this type of book. Also includes an essay by Barbara Haskell former curator at The Whitney Museum. Very minute wear to the hand of the cowboy, which is not uncommon to this book, otherwise the pop-up panels are crisp, clean and fine. Also included is a 1st paper edition of "Red Grooms and Ruckus Manhattan" by Judd Tully which was published to document Grooms's remarkable walk through gallery installation that was held at two New York City galleries in 1975-1976. The book was published by George Braziller in 1977. Illustrated with 51 b&w photos & 32 color photos.
