Another way to tackle a very difficult topic. The author takes WWII and makes it accessible in a way it wasn't before through the use of pictures as well as words. But it also explores the relationship between parents and children as well as how different people deal with the same tragedy. I would use this text in conjunction with another WWII text so that students have another perspective to add to their knowledge.
