Obsidian

I couldn't put this down. It was really good. There were a lot of people that said it was like the Twilight Saga, but after reading Carrier of the Mark and how close in comparison it was. This had a few similar parts but nothing too in your face. When I read this I knew nothing about it except that it was about aliens so when I started reading about Katy being a book blogger, reviewing books and and all the daily blog posts, I was like yes, just like me. I loved that Katy, not just because she loved books as much as I do and that she'd prefer to stay in and read a book than go out but also her attitude. I like that she doesn't just take Daemon's crappy attitude. She fires back, she's feisty. Lol. At times I was like Katy come on stop tripping over everything, but I liked how she grew throughout the story. Daemon, oh Daemon. It reminded me so much of Damon from Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder is who I picture exactly. He is so incredibly hot! I'm a little ehh about Daemon being such a big jerk, and I hope that maybe the next books could help change my mind about Daemon. I really loved the writing style and all the sarcasm which had me laughing out loud. I can't wait to start the next book and see if there are any more hot scenes.

Onyx

This just got so much better than I expected. At first I was just ehh, I don't know if I should continue reading it, I might get disappointed and totally hate Daemon and Katy but I ended up loving it so much. I mean seriously, if you read my thoughts on Obsidian, you probably know that I did not like Daemon Black and I was a little ehhhh about Katy and what a clutz she is. But lets just say that I ended up falling more in love with Daemon and Katy through reading Onyx. Daemon was still snarky, but it wasn't a jerk type of snarky. And Katy starts to be a lot more of a kick as character, although there were times she was a clutz, I don't think she'll ever stop that but she took control of how she handled all the problems that were happening. How we left off in Obsidian, her stepping up and making sure that Dee is not harmed. I mean she took charge from there, it was awesome and she started to grow so much more in this book. I loved the action scenes, especially in the woods, but in Onyx we see a lot more action and its just amazing. Plus the growth of all things Alien and learning what happens when you heal someone, the connection, its just awesome but I won't say much because I don't want to spoil anything. Its just so interesting the more Katy and Daemon work on understanding what really is happening especially understanding what happened with Daemon's brother and who was really responsible for that. And the new characters that you don't know whether to hate or love, its just such an exciting read. Its the perfect balance of love and action, suspense and happiness. Lets just say I was so upset at what happens close to the end... but the ending was just so beautiful. (You will understand once you read, I just don't want to spoil it) I'm so excited to continue the series! Definitely recommend!
